MidWest Solute to the Arts
Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to be the official photographer for the Midwest Solutes to the Arts event in Fairview Heights IL where Rogers and Nienhaus (photo above) blazed the stage on the first night of the event. Shooting a event like this was very different for me, but it was an awesome experience. I’m so used to working, taking photographs for my clients and making sure that I capture the right images that they will love and make them happy, which is a good thing and I do enjoy, however this was a breath of fresh air for me. As I walked around capturing moments from the event I was so inspired by the artist there. Just to see the passion, and the excitement that they had about their art was very touching, I talked with most of the artist there and almost everyone of them said something that opened my mind in a way that allowed me to see things differently as a artist myself. My 2 tips for every artist or photographer: 1) take out time to do something different, breakup the monotony of the everyday hustle and bustle and allow yourself to be more creative or challenge your creativity. 2) Meet other artist or photographers and get inspired to do greater because Iron really do sharpens Iron.
